To provide a vehicle control device which can estimate a temperature of a component by reflecting a windbreak influence caused by a preceding vehicle.SOLUTION: In temperature estimation control, a vehicle control device performs addition amount calculation processing being correction value calculation processing for calculating a correction value (cor2) on the basis of information (TYP) for estimating that a preceding vehicle which travels immediately ahead of an own vehicle belongs to which vehicle type out of a plurality of vehicle types which are classified on the basis of a size and a shape of the vehicle, and information (DST) for estimating an inter-vehicle distance between the preceding vehicle and the own vehicle. Then, in temperature estimation control, the vehicle control device outputs the corrected value corrected by using the correction value (cor2) which is obtained by calculating a temperature of a component calculated on the basis of the information (NE, KL) of an operation state of an internal combustion engine, and the information (SPD) of a vehicle speed through the addition amount calculation processing as a temperature (THfnl) of the component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
