To provide a control device for a vehicle carrying out efficient regeneration while ensuring sufficient drivability at decelation in the control device for the vehicle provided with a system for carrying out regeneration and a continuously variable transmission mechanism.
An engine system 1 includes an internal combustion engine 20; a motor 30; a generator 40; a power division mechanism 50; a continuously variable transmission mechanism 60; a decelator 65; an inverter 70; a battery 80; and an electronic control unit (ECU) 90 or the like as main constitution elements. When vehicle speed is less than a predetermined value at decelation of the vehicle, the ECU 90 carries out control to generate engine torque for canceling out friction torque by carrying out cylinder-reduction operation at decelation of the vehicle mounted with the engine system 1. Thereby, action of the friction torque is substantially reduced by a degree that brake torque T is non-continuously varied accompanying with the change of a transmission gear ratio of the continuously variable transmission mechanism 60.
