Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control unit capable of securing the life of a pump while protecting an inverter.SOLUTION: A vehicle control unit comprises: an inverter 13 for generating AC power for driving a vehicle power motor 11 mounted in a vehicle 10; a pump 14 for delivering a cooling medium to a cooling passage that cools the inverter 13; a shift position sensor 25 for detecting a shift position selected by a shifter 15 for switching an operation state of the motor 11; pump control means 3 for starting the pump 14 when the shift position detected by the shift position sensor 25 has been switched to a drive range; and motor control means 4 for, if the shift position has been switched to the drive range, limiting a vehicle output torque of the motor 11 until a predetermined time passes since the switching.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
