Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preferably charge a power storage device without giving a feeling of strangeness to an occupant when any object exists in front of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device 18 comprises: creating means 184 that creates a travelling plan including target speed v of a vehicle 1; determining means 186 and 187 which determine whether or not total quantities of power that the power storage device stores are below a first predetermined value TH1 and whether or not a distance between an object appearing in front of the vehicle and the vehicle is below a predetermined value D after creating the travelling plan; and second control means 188 that when determining that the distance is below the first predetermined value and the total quantities of the power are below a second predetermined value, allows the vehicle to travel at the target speed while keeping the travelling plan, and makes power generation amounts of a rotary electric machine using output of an internal combustion engine more than power generation amounts when determining that the distance is not below the first predetermined value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
