Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control device which prevents a traffic accident caused by stepping errors of an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal.SOLUTION: A movement instruction lever is mounted in a steering wheel of a vehicle and is used for an accelerator operation and a brake operation. In a vehicle control device 5, a motor control section 53 operates an on-vehicle motor as a power source or a regeneration brake of the vehicle on the basis of operation amount 3A acquired from the movement instruction lever. An actuator control section 54 controls a brake actuator mounted in the vehicle on the basis of stepping amount 4A acquired from a brake pedal 4. When the brake actuator is normally operated, an operation restriction section 56 restricts the motor control section 53 from controlling the motor as the regeneration brake. When an abnormality of the brake actuator occurs, the operation restriction section 56 permits the motor control section 53 to control the motor as the regeneration brake.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
