Abstract:
To provide a vehicle control system and a method capable of improving responsiveness and a linear feeling of a vehicle to steering operation even when controlling the vehicle of which rear wheels are controlled by a prime mover.SOLUTION: A method for controlling a vehicle (1) of which rear wheels (2a) are driven by a prime mover (4) includes: a basic torque setting process of setting basic torque to be generated by the prime mover on the basis of a driving state of the vehicle including an operation amount of an accelerator pedal of the vehicle; an increase torque setting process of setting increase torque so as to increase the basic torque on the basis of an increase in a steering angle of a steering device (7) mounted to the vehicle; and torque generation means of controlling the prime mover so as to generate torque obtained by adding the increase torque to the basic torque. In the increase torque setting process, a change of the increase torque on the basis of the operation of the accelerator pedal is restricted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
