Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the safety of a vehicle control system by the detection of an external vibration frequency band which causes malfunctions, and the simplification of the vibration-proof structure of an angular velocity sensor.
SOLUTION: The acceleration by external vibration etc. is detected by a G sensor (acceleration sensor) 10, mounted in the same case as the angular velocity sensor 1. A detected signal Vs is supplied to 1st and 2nd BPF(s) (band-pass filter) 21, 22, so as to extract a drive-system resonance frequency fd of the angular velocity sensor and the frequency component of a frequency Δf of the difference between the resonance frequencies of the drive system and of the detection system. Signals Vs1 and Vs2 of each extracted frequency component are supplied to 1st and 2nd window comparators 23, 24, and if each frequency component deviates from the predetermined range, a diagnosis signal Vd is output, to inform that the angular velocity sensor is in an abnormal state.
