Abstract:
To reduce a burden on a vehicle occupant during automatic operation.SOLUTION: A vehicle control system comprises: a recognition part which recognizes peripheral vehicles; and an automatic operation control part which executes any one of plural automatic operation modes. In the plural automatic operation modes respectively, a speed limit is set. A prescribed automatic operation mode included in the plural automatic operation modes contains a platooning mode, and other traveling modes excluding platooning. A first speed limit is provided in the other traveling modes, whereas a second speed limit greater than the first speed limit is provided in the platooning mode. The automatic operation control part executes the prescribed automatic operation mode using the first speed limit as an upper limit, in the other traveling modes of the prescribed automatic operation mode, and executes the prescribed automatic operation mode using the second speed limit as an upper limit, in the platooning mode of the prescribed automatic operation mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
