To provide a vehicle controller capable of speedily performing deceleration operation in all the vehicle speed regions while including the vehicle speed region in which power from an engine is transmitted through a mechanical transmission part only in a hydraulic-mechanical transmission in a part.
This vehicle controller is provided with the engine 2 and the hydraulic-mechanical transmission 1 to set traction force-vehicle speed characteristic corresponding to the direct region in which power transmission from an input shaft 3 to an intermediate output shaft 8 of the hydraulic-mechanical transmission 1 in the region of predetermined engine speed is performed by only a mechanical transmission part. It is provided with an engine controller 65 for controlling the engine 2 and a deceleration device 60 for outputting a deceleration command corresponding to operation amount. The engine controller 65 controls the engine 2 to reduce engine output torque corresponding to the region of predetermined engine speed in accordance with a deceleration command from the deceleration device 60.
