To secure the amount of charge for a high-voltage battery without adversely affecting driving performance, while enhancing the mountability of a vehicle's power source and auxiliary devices and the efficiency of recycling deceleration energy.

An engine 14 driving front wheels 11, 12 is provided on the front side of the vehicle 10. A motor generator 24 for driving rear wheels 18, 19 and a compressor 25 for an air conditioner are provided on the rear side of the vehicle 10. The rear wheels 18, 19, the motor generator 24 and the compressor 25 are connected to one another via a power distribution device 23. If an alternator 17 cannot generate electric power regardless of a request to charge the high-voltage battery 33, the amount of electric power that the motor generator 24 generates is increased so that the high-voltage battery 33 is charged with the electric power generated by the motor generator 24. Main driveshaft torque (driving torque for the front wheels 11, 12) is determined so that a decrease in auxiliary driveshaft torque (driving torque for the rear wheels 18, 19) caused by the increase in the amount of electric power that the motor generator 24 generates is canceled out by an increase in the main driveshaft torque.
