The vehicle controller 1 for controlling a vehicle drive device 2 whose input member I, output member O, and rotary electric machine MG1 are driven and connected to different rotary elements of a differential gear device PG, respectively. The vehicle controller 1 includes: a stop control means 34 for performing stop control for controlling the rotary electric machine MG1 so as to gradually reduce a rotary speed of an engine E toward the target stop position; an acceleration acquiring means 35 for acquiring vehicle acceleration; and a correcting means 36 for deriving compensation torque for canceling inertia torque generated by inertia moment of the rotary electric machine MG1 according to vehicle acceleration, and for outputting the compensation torque from the rotary electric machine MG1 at least after the end of the stop control.
