PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of a vehicle by controlling the travel of the vehicle and the monitor of the position by a controlling device provided on the ground.
CONSTITUTION: When an initial sensor 2 confirms the position of a vehicle, an initial value is set in a distance integrating counter 105. When an automatic operation start command is then inputted, data of a memory 102 is compared by a comparator 103 with the counted value of the counter 105, and a travel pattern is produced by a pattern generator based on the compared result. On the other hand, a speed pulse 131 transmitted from a vehicle station 11 is inputted to the counter 105 and a counter 107, the counted value of the counter 107 is sampled at the prescribed period of time to be converted into a speed data. The travel pattern thus obtained is compared with the speed data, and a travel command or a brake command is transmitted to the station 11.
