To execute a driving force changing drive at vehicle speed slower than current vehicle speed to improve energy efficiency when the behavior of a forward vehicle fulfills a deceleration condition when steady travel is requested.
A vehicle 100 is provided with a motor generator 130 which generates travel driving force and an ECU 300 for controlling the motor generator 130. The ECU 300 conducts the driving force changing drive which switches a first state (low output state) which generates a specific level of driving force and a second state (high output state) which generates the driving force larger than the first state on the motor generator 130. In a case when the behavior of the forward vehicle fulfills the deceleration condition when the steady travel is requested, the driving force changing drive is executed at the vehicle speed slower than the current vehicle speed. Thus, the energy efficiency of the vehicle 100 during travel is improved.
