The transmitter of a vehicle detection part 21 buried in a parking section is equipped with a transmitting coil 25 which generates magnetic flux 26 and the receiver has a receiving coil 31. The receiving coil 31 is arranged at a position that the magnetic flux 26 from the transmitting coil 25 passes through and a magnetic circuit is composed of both the coils 25 and 31 and magnetic flux 26. Consequently, a sensor is constituted having the path of the magnetic flux 26 as its detection range; and the magnetic flux 26 passing through the receiving coil 31 varies according to whether or not there is metal in the detection range and the variation is converted into voltage variation, which is sent to a signal processing part.
