Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle detection device that can identify a road where a vehicle passes among a plurality of multilevel roads.
SOLUTION: The vehicle detection device for detecting a vehicle upon a change in magnetism by a passing vehicle has a magnetic sensor 1a with two sensing axes installed on at least either of two multilevel roads, and has an arithmetic device 2 for computing the angle at which the magnetic sensor 1a faces the vehicle from magnetic intensities Iy and Iz detected in the sensing axes, respectively, and a determination device 3 for comparing the angle with a preset threshold to identify the road where the vehicle passes.
