Abstract:
To provide a vehicle detector and a vehicle detection method capable of accurately detecting presence of a vehicle regardless of performance of a scanning type laser sensor.SOLUTION: A vehicle detector 10 includes: a first scanning type laser sensor 11a for irradiating the laser beam with a plurality of irradiation angles within a predetermined scanning range to which the laser beam is irradiated; a second scanning type laser sensor 11b for irradiating the laser beam with the plurality of irradiation angles within the predetermined scanning range to which the laser beam is irradiated; and a determination unit 120 for determining whether or not there is a vehicle traveling on a lane based on a combination of detection results of the first scanning type laser sensor 11a and the second scanning type laser sensor 11b.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
