Abstract:
To provide a disconnecting structure between a vehicle body and a door without the need for additional special equipment.SOLUTION: A vehicle door hinge device 1, connecting a door 3 to a vehicle body 4, includes an upper door hinge 1H provided at an upper section of a vehicle and a lower door hinge 1L provided at a lower section of the vehicle; the lower door hinge 1L has a hinge shaft 30 that is a substantial cylinder extending in the vehicle height direction, a hinge female 10 fixed to the vehicle body 4 and having a female coupling 12 through which the hinge shaft 30 is inserted, and a hinge male 20 fixed to the door 3 and having male couplings 26H, 26L through which the hinge shaft 30 is inserted; either the female coupling 12L or the male coupling 26L has a slit 27 with an opening width smaller than the diameter of the hinge shaft 30; and the slit 27 is provided in the position and direction where the female coupling 12L or the male coupling 26L receives a load from the hinge shaft 30 upon forward collision.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
