Abstract:
PURPOSE: To minimize the effect to door opening operation even when an outer board of a door is dented to a large extent resultant from a collision accident or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A vehicle door lock device with this automatic door closing mechanism is provided with a ratchet unit 6 on the rear end of a door 1 where the ratchet unit has a ratchet, which turns being engaged with a striker fixed with a chassis and a ratchet which prevents the ratchet from being reversed by engaging the revolving ratchet. A power unit 30 having a ratchet drive motor is installed to the front side of the door 1. A wire 15 is installed between the ratchet unit 6 and the power unit 30 so as to transmit the rotary motion to the ratchet. The wire 15 is installed along the outer peripheral edge running around the central part of the door 1.
