To provide a vehicle drive device which meets a torque requirement value by improving torque of an inner circumferential magnetic circuit or an outer circumferential magnetic circuit.
In the case where auxiliary field magnets 8a and 8b are not provided, a magnetic flux passing through main field magnets 7a and 7b and interlinked to a stator winding wire 5 and a first rotor winding wire 6 and a magnetic flux passing through the main field magnets 7a and 7b and short-circuited to neighboring main field magnets 7b' and 7a' are passed. Since the magnetic flux to be short-circuited is not contributed to generation of torque, a satisfactory inner circumferential magnetic circuit is not formed and torque exchanged between a second rotor 4 and a first rotor 3 is reduced. In the case where the auxiliary field magnets 8a and 8b are provided, on the other hand, since the short-circuited magnetic flux is interlinked to the first rotor winding wire 6 by the auxiliary field magnets 8a and 8b and an inner circumferential magnetic circuit is formed, motor drive torque exchanged between the second rotor 4 and the first rotor 3 is enlarged.
