Abstract:
To provide a vehicle drive device which enables improvement of energy regeneration efficiency of a rotary electric machine during vehicle deceleration.SOLUTION: A vehicle drive device 1 includes: a fluid joint 11 connected to an engine 3; and a rotary electric machine 2 connected to the engine through the fluid joint. The fluid joint has: an impeller 12 which rotates around a rotation axis 5 when torque output from the engine is input thereto; and a turbine 13 which faces the impeller and rotates around the rotation axis when torque output from the impeller is input thereto through fluid. The vehicle drive device has: a path 503 which is provided between an output shaft 501 of the engine and the impeller to transmit the torque output from the engine to the impeller without passing through the turbine; and paths 52, 53 which allow the torque input to the impeller to pass from the impeller through a radial outer side relative to the impeller with respect to the rotation axis via the turbine and be output through the rotary electric machine.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1B
