To provide a driving force control device and a driving force control method which enables the slip fastening of a clutch to be maintained.
A vehicle HEV is provided with: a motor 2 which can rotate driving wheels 10; a transmission 8, which is interposed in a driving force transmission path between the driving wheel 10 and the motor 2 and changes rotating speed to an optional gear ratio between the driving wheels 10 and the motor 2; and a second clutch 6 which is interposed in the driving force transmission path between the motor 2 and the transmission 8, and transmits or shuts off the driving force between the motor 2 and the transmission 8. When the deviation between the number of revolutions of the motor 2 and that of the input shaft of the transmission 8 becomes less than a predetermined number of revolutions with the driving force transmitted between the motor 2 and the transmission 8 while slip fastening the second clutch 6 with regard to this vehicle, the gear ratio of the transmission 8 is controlled such that the slip fastening of the second clutch 6 is maintained.
