Abstract:
To provide a drum brake for vehicle which includes an adjustment mechanism which can adjust a braking gap manually or automatically, with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A drum brake for vehicle includes: a wheel cylinder 7 including a first piston 17 and a second piston 18; a return spring 9 stretched between a pair of brake shoes 3, 4; and an adjustment mechanism 19 for adjusting a braking gap. The first piston 17 and the second piston 18 come into contact via their clutch surfaces 17e, 18a, and define a hydraulic chamber 26 between the first piston 17 and the second piston 18. The first piston 17 includes the adjustment mechanism 19 protruding outward from a cylinder hole 7b on the tip side of a body part 17a. The adjustment mechanism 19 includes: a male screw part 19a protruding coaxially with the body part 17a; an adjustment member 19c which is screwed to the male screw part 19a, and in which a tip comes into contact with the first brake shoe 3; and an adjustment spring 19d for energizing the adjustment member 19c to the tip side of the male screw part 19a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
