To provide an electric traction device used for assisting a caregiver to put or take out a wheelchair onto or from a vehicle via a slope board mounted on a rear opening of the vehicle which allows a caregiver to move a wheelchair at an arbitrary speed without caring about slack of a traction belt and realizes quick loading or unloading of a wheelchair by solving problems of prior devices, such as necessity to move the wheelchair in accordance with winding or feeding speed of a traction belt so as to prevent a slack of the traction belt and poor maneuverability and slow loading or unloading of a wheelchair because of such necessity.
A slack detection mechanism 50 detects a slack of the traction belt 21. Power 22 of a winding drum 30 is then turned off to rotate the winding drum 30 in the winding direction by a coil spring 33. With such a configuration, the slack is canceled instantly.
