To provide an on-vehicle electronic key system capable of preventing the runout of a battery during parking, without impairing drivers' conveniences.
An on-vehicle device 8 to be mounted on a vehicle 1 includes a switch 3 for connecting a battery 7 to equipment which consumes electric power in the on-vehicle device 8, and for disconnecting the battery 7 from the equipment when power supply to itself is stopped, a power receiving device 2 for receiving the power in a no-contact system, and for supplying the power to the switch 3 when receiving the power and stopping the power supply to the switch 3 when stopping receiving the power, and an on-vehicle transmitter-receiver 5 for receiving radio signals using the power supplied from the battery 7. A portable key 9 includes a power transmitter 10 for transmitting the power to the on-vehicle device, and an on-portable-key transmitter-receiver 14 for transmitting the radio signals.
