To properly start a vehicle 10 on a hill, and to decrease discomfort caused by difference between feeling of an accelerator operation by a driver and behavior of the vehicle 10 after the start so as to improve driveability.
An engine system is mounted on the vehicle 10, and an ECU 20 detects statuses of an engine 11 disposed to the vehicle 10 or the engine system by an accelerator sensor 21, a vehicle speed sensor 22, and a brake sensor 23 or the like. When the vehicle 10 is stopped, road inclination is calculated from the detected calculation parameter. When the engine 11 is started on the hill, a correction amount with respect to a fuel injection amount calculated based on the road inclination is corrected depending on the vehicle speed, and the fuel injection amount is corrected by the corrected correction amount. Then, generated torque of the engine is controlled based on the corrected fuel injection amount.
