To provide an on-vehicle equipment monitoring device for informing a driver of a trouble when occurring in on-vehicle equipment while making itself responsive to each of the combined on-vehicle equipment, and also to provide a vehicle instrument device equipped therewith.
A control circuit 25 determines the presence of on-vehicle equipment 10A-10D which transmit indicator drive signals Sa-Sd (Step S150) when it receives the indicator drive signals Sa-Sd from any of ECUs 11A-11D in presence/absence determining processing (Yes in Step S130). It determines absence of the on-vehicle equipment 10A-10D relating to the indicator drive signals Sa-Sd which are not received (Step S160) when it does not receive the indicator drive signals Sa-Sd (No in Step S130). In display processing, an ordinary display is performed when the indicator drive signals are periodically received and it is changed over into an extraordinary display when the signals are no more received.
