Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate proper vehicle evaluation by easily grasping the input amplitude dependence and input frequency dependence.
SOLUTION: Steering angle and steering torque are input in a Lissajous wave generating section 7a, a Lissajous waveform (hysteresis curve) of steering angle-steering torque is produced and a spring constant K and the attenuation coefficient C are calculated using the waveform signal in a constant calculating unit 7b. Those are compared respectively with a target spring constant K0 and a target attenuation coefficient C0; and each deviation (&utri K, &utri C) are input in a controller 7d, assist gain Ga and damping gain Gd as control parameters are optimized and EPS is controlled by them. Since the characteristics of the hysteresis curve can be expressed with two index values of dynamic spring constant and attenuation coefficient, even a curve having non-linear characteristics can be grasped quantitatively, and vehicle evaluation of steering performance being a significant performance of automobile can be conducted.
