To provide a vehicle fault report system capable of automatically detecting a vehicle fault, reporting the fault contents to a prescribed reporting destination registered beforehand through a telephone line, reporting that to a driver and storing information useful for the inspection and repair of a vehicle.
This system is provided with a reception part 1 for receiving operation input, a diagnosis 3, a central processing part 5, a nonvolatile memory 7, an output part 9 for performing output by voice guidance and a portable telephone set 11. When the generation of a fault is detected by the diagnosis 3, while the fault contents are voice-guided through the output part 9, by the input of a prescribed command from the reception part 1, a call is automatically placed to the reporting destination registered beforehand such as JAF through the portable telephone set 11 and the fault contents are reported by the voice guidance. The fault contents and the information useful for the inspection and maintenance are recorded in the nonvolatile memory 7 and appropriately read.
