Title:
ON-VEHICLE GENERATOR CONTROLLER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH01117629
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve charge and discharge properties of a battery by providing a means for controlling the operation of a target voltage changing means for changing the desired value of output voltage of an AC generator and a battery, until a vehicle speed exceeds a specified value.

CONSTITUTION: A voltage regulator 20 is connected with an AC generator 19 and a battery 18 driven by a vehicle engine 1 to cause an output voltage to coincide with a target voltage. Also, an electronic control unit(ECU) 18 loads information from various sensors in the vehicle to give a control signal 20b for changing said target voltage according to operating conditions of the vehicle and engine, and does not change the target voltage until a vehicle speed detected by a speed sensor 21 exceeds a specified speed. In this manner, it is possible to maintain appropriately the balance of charge and discharge even in case of a traveling mode at the time of a traffic snarl and to prevent a battery running down.
