To provide a vehicle headlamp to which various optimum orientation pattern forming functions can be provided according to vehicle traveling statures without making the whole of the vehicle headlamp large in size and heavy in weight.
The vehicle headlamp 100 is provided with a main lamp unit 17 that is arranged fixedly and can secure a light volume of main light distribution and sub-lamp units 19, 21 as auxiliary lamps that use semiconductor light-emitting elements as light sources and can change or form a light distribution pattern. The sub-lamp units 19, 21 are provided with vertical change mechanisms to change the irradiation direction in a vertical direction, a horizontal change mechanism to change the irradiation direction in right and left directions, and a pattern change mechanism to change the light distribution pattern, respectively.
