A vehicle headlamp includes a shade 22, which includes a fixed part 23 and a movable part 24 which is moved to the fixed part; the movable part is movable between a first position abutting against the fixed part and a second position separating from the fixed part. In this case, a first light distribution pattern is formed, by moving the movable part to the first position and a second light distribution pattern is formed, by moving the movable part to the second position; then end portions in the movable part which abut against the fixed part are provided as abutting portions 26 and 26, and end portions in the fixed part to which the movable part is abutted are provided as abutting portions 25 and 25; and the wall thickness of at least one of the abutting and abutted portions is greater than the wall thickness of at least a portion which is other than the abutting portion in the moving part.
