To provide a vehicle headlight that achieves improvement of long-distance visibility in an ordinary light distribution pattern and prevention of glare of on-coming vehicles due to road-face reflection in rainy-weather light distribution pattern, and yet, that can achieve cost reduction and improvement in layout versatility of a lighting tool unit.

The vehicle headlight includes a lighting tool unit 3 consisting of a white-color LED 5 as a light source, an optical reflector 6 irradiating light from the white-color LED 5 forward, a projector lens 8 fitted toward front of the optical reflector 6. The lighting tool unit 3 is provided with a levelizer 10 changing light-axis directions up and down for irradiating on a vehicle-front road face. Further, the lighting tool unit 3 suppresses a light-irradiating volume toward a short-distance area on the vehicle-front road face, only by changing the light-axis directions from a direction obtaining an ordinary light distribution pattern to a direction obtaining a rainy-weather light distribution pattern with the levelizer 10.
