Title:
VEHICLE HEIGHT ADJUSTING MECHANISM FOR FRONT FORK
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3415937
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a front fork that can adjust vehicle height while maintaining optimum riding comfort.
CONSTITUTION: A spring seat 4 is screwed with the tip part outer periphery of a hollow pipe 3. When an adjuster 15 is rotated, an adjusting rod is rotated, and the spring seat 4 fitted (D) to the adjusting rod is rotated so as to move the tip part outer periphery of the hollow pipe 3 in the axial direction. An inner tube 2 is thereby rotated downward in relation to an outer tube 1 to lower vehicle height. At this time, the spring seat 4 moves downward, so that the distance to a rebound stroke R between the lower end face of the spring seat 4 and a valve stopper 11 positioned on the uppermost side out of a piston part 13 at the lower part inner periphery of the inner tube 2 does not change from that before adjustment of the vehicle height, so that there is no change in the initial set load of a suspension spring.
