This image processor consists of a photographing means 10 is mounted on a vehicle and photographs the periphery of the vehicle, an image memory 11 which stores the video signals V outputted from the means 10 as the image data G, a white details detection means 14 which detects the white details data W on a lane edge detection line equivalent to at least a horizontal scan section out of the data G, and a lane edge detection means 18 which detects the lane edge of a running road of the vehicle based on the data W. The means 14 also includes an image data value read means which reads the image data value of the lane edge detection line out of the image data and a white details detection means which extracts a vertical white details position out of the image data value as the white details data.
