This vehicle image recording device 1 is provided with: a plurality of imaging means 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 for picking up the images of the plurality of types of outsides and insides of a vehicle; a recording means 7a for recording images picked up by the plurality of imaging means 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6; a decision means 7b for deciding whether or not the state of the vehicle is a prescribed state (right and left output is left output or right output); and a changing means 7c for, when it is decided that the state of the vehicle is put in the prescribed state by a decision means 7b, changing the resolution of the prescribed combination of the imaging means (left camera 3 in right output and right camera 4 in left output) corresponding to the prescribed state among the plurality of imaging means 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
