PURPOSE: To provide an on-vehicle image recording system in which an on- vehicle camera and an image recording means such as a VTR are combined, and the image data of the accident can be left even when an accident takes place at the worst.

CONSTITUTION: A constitution to convert an image signal outside a vehicle taken by an on-vehicle camera 1 to an on-vehicle display 3 or an on-vehicle image recording device 9 selectively through a signal converting circuit 2 is applied, the deceleration (the conversion part in the-direction of the acceleration) from a car speed sensor 4 is detected by an acceleration detecting circuit 5, and only when the detecting signal of the acceleration detecting circuit 5 exceeds a preset deceleration, a microcomputer 8 for control converts the signal converting circuit 2 to the on-vehicle image recording device 9, and at the same time, the on-vehicle image recording device 9 is made to carry out the recording operation of the image signal. Consequently, when a sudden braking is used in an accident or the like, an image outside the vehicle can be recorded automatically.
