Various sensors which detect the travel environment of a vehicle are connected to a navigation microcomputer 5 through an interface 20. Standby time (timing) data on the start of information provision are detected by the travel environment of the vehicle detected by the sensors to determine the standby time of the start of information provision. Namely, the provision start timing of information is adjusted according to the travel environment of the vehicle not right after an operation switch 6 is operated or an information receiver 10 receives traffic information. Through this constitution, information is provided in timing corresponding to various travel environment, so the information is provided always in proper timing.
