To provide a measuring instrument for a vehicle of unique appearances by devising an instruction method of a physical quantity and easily recognizing a change state of the physical quantity.
Four past values are displayed to be partly overlapped so as to successively go back to the past values indicating past speeds rear of a current value indicating a newest running speed, the four past values are arranged right downward of the current value during increasing speed, and arranged left upward of the current value during decreasing speed. Furthermore, the larger an acceleration is, the larger a display pitch being an arrangement interval of the current value and the past value is set. In this case, a recognizer can easily recognize during the increasing speed or during the decreasing speed and can very easily recognize the scale of the acceleration from the scale of the display pitch.
