Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle lamp fitting which uses plural optical polarizers which have a reduced number of components and scan excitation light.SOLUTION: A vehicle lamp fitting 500 is equipped with: a wide optical unit 502Wide; a middle optical unit 502Mid; a hot optical unit 502Hot; a projected image engine CPU 504; a storage unit 506; a wavelength conversion member 18 (phosphor plate); a projection lens 20; and so on. The projected image engine CPU 504 so controls excitation light sources 12Wide, 12Mid, 12Hot of three optical units and three optical polarizers 201Wide, 201Mid, 201Hot as to be coincident with a target luminance distribution, and detects a failure of at least one of said three excitation light sources and three optical polarizers. Said plural excitation light sources and optical polarizers are so controlled that a luminance distribution interpolating a luminance distribution charged before a failure is not detected in an optical polarizer corresponding to an optical polarizer or an excitation light source in which a failure has been detected is formed in the wavelength conversion member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 46
