To provide a vehicle mirror device capable of enhancing a durability of a clutch mechanism and preventing a variation of a press-contact load between a clutch member and a rotation member.
In the vehicle door mirror device 10, a fitting surface 22 of a gear plate 20 and a surface 26 to be fitted of a clutch plate 24 are made to a side surface shape of a truncated cone making a support shaft 16 as a center axis and are fitted in the state that an urging force is applied. When an external force of a predetermined value or more is applied to a case member 18, a slide of the fitting surface 22 against the surface 26 to be fitted is permitted to permit a rotation of the gear plate 20 against the clutch plate 24. When the gear plate 20 is rotated, an abrasion amount of the fitting surface 22 and the surface 26 to be fitted is less and durability of the clutch mechanism can be enhanced. At this time, urging force of a compression coil spring 28 is not varied and variation of the press-contact load between the clutch plate 24 and the gear plate 20 can be prevented.
