Abstract:
To provide a vehicle monitoring device capable of confirming safety of a driver with a simple method, and to provide a vehicle monitoring method therefor.SOLUTION: A vehicle monitoring device 1 comprises: a monitor 3 for authenticating whether or not a vehicle C passing through a gateway 21 of a parking lot 2 is a vehicle of a monitoring target person; and a processor 4 for notifying a user U of entry/exit information about the vehicle C when the vehicle C is authenticated by the monitor 3 to be the vehicle owned by the monitoring target person. The monitor 3 comprises: a monitoring camera 31 arranged at the gateway 21 of the parking lot 2; a vehicle number registration part 32 for registering a vehicle number of the vehicle C driven by the monitoring target person; a vehicle number reading part 33 for reading the vehicle number from a video of the monitoring camera 31; and a vehicle number collation part 34 for collating whether or not the read vehicle number is a registered vehicle number.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
