Abstract:

To provide a technology for switching from low quality hierarchy to high quality hierarchy, not to make a user feel discomfort who views a video.

A vehicle-mounted digital broadcasting receiver which can connect to an output device 107 of video or voice comprises a tuner 102 that receives digital broadcasting signals transmitted in a plurality of hierarchies of different quality in video and/or voice, and a selecting device 106 that discriminates reception state for each of a plurality of hierarchies for selecting one hierarchy that can be outputted, and outputs the video signal and/or voice signal of the selected hierarchy to the output device 107. The selecting device 106, if the reception state of first segment becomes worse than a prescribed state when the hierarchy of first segment is selected, selects the hierarchy of a second segment to switch hierarchy.
