PURPOSE: To improve fuel consumption, by specifically arranging a relation between gross weight of a vehicle at fixed loading time and displacement of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: In the captioned vehicle, in which an air cooler is provided to a turbocharger to improve charging efficiency, when assuming W (ton) for gross weight of a vehicle at fixed loading time and V (l) for displacement of an engine, the engine displacement is arranged to -0.0083W+0.56≤V<-0.0083W+ 0.65. As a research result for vehicles respectively in gross weight 8, 12, 16 and 20 ton, a good fuel consumption characteristic is in a rangeI as shown by an oblique line. Then an upper line J, partitioning the rangeI, is V/W= -0.0083W+0.65, while a lower line K is V/W=-0.0083W+0.56.
