Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle operation auxiliary device for intelligibly informing an operator of any transient risk and stationary risk in the surrounding of a vehicle.
SOLUTION: When a front obstacle is the target of control, this controller calculates a risk potential representing a stationary risk based on an inter-vehicle time and a risk potential representing a transient risk based on a spare time. The controller calculates a reaction command value based on the stationary risk potential and a reaction command value based on the transient risk potential, and weights the reaction command value based on the transient risk potential based on the traveling condition of its own vehicle. The controller selects the reaction command value for control by select high from the reaction command value based on the stationary risk potential and the weighted reaction command value based on the transient risk potential, and performs operation reaction control.
