Abstract:
To suitably detect an object present around a periphery of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle periphery monitoring device (10) detects a target present around a periphery of a vehicle (1) on the basis of a radio wave received by an antenna unit (1) provided in the vehicle. The vehicle periphery monitoring device comprises: a movable control mechanism (120) which can change a direction of the antenna unit relative to the vehicle; and control means (230) which, (i) when no target is detected, controls the movable control mechanism so that the movable control mechanism changes the direction of the antenna unit on the basis of a running state of the vehicle and which, (ii) when the target is detected, controls the movable control mechanism so that the movable control mechanism changes the direction of the antenna unit on the basis of a detection state of the target.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
