Abstract:
To provide a vehicle power unit which combines an actuator, such as a drive motor and a brake device, with a speed reduction mechanism with a high reduction ratio to achieve downsizing and weight reduction.SOLUTION: A vehicle power unit 1 amplifies torque input to input shafts 4 and transmits the torque to an axle 2 to generate at least one of driving force or brake force of a vehicle. A speed reduction mechanism 5 includes: a planetary gear mechanism 11; a parallel gear set 12 having a large diameter gear 18 and pinion gears 19 which engage with the large diameter gear 18; and multiple pinion shafts 9 which integrally rotate with the pinion gears 19 and serve as the input shafts 4. The pinion shafts 9 are disposed at the outer periphery side of the axle 2 and are respectively connected with actuators 3. The actuators 3 are disposed at the inner side or the outer side of the speed reduction mechanism 5 in a vehicle width direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
