Abstract:
To provide a vehicle rear gate device which enables folding operation and flip-up operation to be easily performed while preventing interference with an obstacle behind a vehicle.SOLUTION: In a vehicle rear gate device, a rear gate 4 which opens or closes a rear part opening 3 of a vehicle body 2 has: a first door part 11 which is supported by an upper edge part of the rear part opening 3 in a manner that the first door part 11 can swing in a vertical direction; and a second door part 12 which is supported by the first door part 11 in a manner that the second door part 12 can swing in the vertical direction. The second door part 12 is formed below the first door part 11 in a foldable manner. The vehicle rear gate device controls a first swing unit 20 to operate so that the second door part 12 is folded below the first door part 11 in conjunction with operation of cylinders 6 in a case that an obstacle sensor 33 detects a situation where a rear end of the rear gate 4 and an obstacle behind a vehicle 1 move close to each other when the first door part 11 is operated upward to open the rear gate 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
