To provide a vehicle rear part structure for preventing damage to or the breakage of an article when held between a lid front end and the upper part of a bumper during the over-stroke of a trunk lid to the lower side.
The vehicle rear part structure 1 includes a retainer 30 mounted on a lower back panel 20, and the bumper 40 supported by the retainer 30. The retainer 30 has a receiving part 32 which is expanded horizontally from a position distant downward from the lid front end 13 during closing the trunk lid and to which the upper part of the bumper 40 is fixed. The upper part of the bumper 40 is provided with flexible parts 42, 43 which are arranged on the lower side of the lid front end 13 during closing the trunk lid, and a mounting part 45 which is protruded from the front ends of the flexible parts 42, 43 and fixed to the receiving part. The flexible parts 42, 43 are arranged above the receiving part 32 via a cavity S1.
