Abstract:
PURPOSE: To turn slats at precisely determined positions and to surely hold them at predetermined positions in a condition in which they are raised, by guiding the slats in double along two guide positions which are on opposite sides of the slats and which are spaced from one another in a slide direction.
CONSTITUTION: A flat slat joint member is composed of slats 10a to 10e which are made into contact with one another in a condition in which a roof opening 13 is closed. During displacement of slats, the slats 10a to 10e are translated while they are guided by guides 22, 135 along two guide positions which are on opposite sides of the slats 10a to 10e and which are spaced from each other. During this translating motion, the slats are turned around first one 57a to 57e of these two guide positions, the slats are separated from each other in the forward part of the joint member in the opening direction when the roof is opened, but they are rearranged when the roof is closed. At this time, the second one 82a to 82e of the slat guide positions cooperates with a plurality of connecting paths 137b to 137e branching from a guide path 135 which is commonly laid in the slats during the translating motion, so as to surely turn and hold the slats.
