PURPOSE: To enable an accurate running guide of a vehicle by indicating a running track of a vehicle on a display screen such as CRT showing a road map of running areas superimposed on the map.

CONSTITUTION: When the power source of a vehicle running guide device is closed, a cassette deck 16 is actuated by a control section 14 and a road data of a road map prememorized in a cassette tape is reproduced and written into a memory of the control section 14. Then, by inputting a data of running areas into the control section 14 with a keyboard or the like, a road for running areas is indicated on a CRT display 18. Upon the inputting of a starting point S and destination point G into the control section 14 by the operation of the keyboard or the like, specific marks showing the starting point S and the destination G are indicated on the road map of the CRT18. As soon as a vehicle starts running, outputs of a distance sensor 12 and a direction sensor 10 are obtained to compute the current position (X, Y) and displayed on the CRT18 as a running track following the running of the vehicle as shown by the solid line 20.
